Hosting a food drive is one of the easiest ways to join our mission and to become a Food Helper yourself! Whether is is your business, charitable group, congregation, school team, or even individuals who want to do their part, we can help you host a food drive for Greater Washington County Food Bank. There are two ways to host a food drive: a traditional food drive and a Virtual Food Drive.
Traditional Food Drive
Time to go through the pantry and donate your canned goods, pastas, rice, canned fruit, and more! You or your group can lead a food drive, collecting canned and shelf-stable food items, which can be dropped off at our warehouse in Brownsville, or picked up by a Food Helpers team. Greater Washington County Food Bank can help with marketing materials and flyers on things to collect, and things to avoid (such as glass containers). A great for option for businesses, school groups, and churches.
Virtual Food Drive
Do you want a fun, unique way to host a food drive without having to worry about the logistics of transporting canned goods to our facility? The Greater Washington County Food Bank is happy to offer an alternative option to a traditional food drive, a virtual food drive. A virtual food drive allows your team or group to fund raise for the Food Bank, utilizing our buying power to extend your dollars into three times the amount of food versus retail pricing.
